“Having worked in clinical research for several years, joining the PHISICC project was a new and interesting adventure for me. Being in the field for a few weeks with the investigators, local authorities, health care providers and households was rewarding as it allowed me to see the realities faced by health care staff in the different districts. Despite all the obstacles that stood in our way, we had to meet our daily targets in order to ensure that the whole programme was met, which made the adventure really exciting.
Other positive aspects :
(1)- the familiarity and solidarity that was quickly created within the survey teams : the old ones supporting the new ones in the field, mutual help in using the equipment and finding the households to be enrolled, the jovial atmosphere that reigned within the groups throughout the expedition.
(2)- the exceptional organisation of the teams with experienced supervisors at the head.
(3)- the availability of the various project supervisors in case of need”.
